Prairie’s Edge Development Corporation is a Saskatchewan-based land development company specializing in thoughtfully planned, family-friendly, and affordable recreational and residential lake communities. We are the developers behind Sunset Beach at Lake Diefenbaker, a growing lake community located near Elbow, Saskatchewan.
Our approach combines careful planning, respect for the land, and a genuine understanding of how people want to experience lake life- today and for years to come.
Our Story & Roots
Prairie’s Edge Development Corporation was founded in 2007 by Drs. Lorraine and Zenon Forster. After many years working as veterinarians, they chose to apply their shared values of care, stewardship, and attention to detail to land development.
Lorraine’s connection to outdoor lifestyle runs deep. Her grandparents operated a fly-in fishing lodge, where her father worked as a pilot, giving her lifelong ties to lake communities, outdoor recreation, and tourism. These early experiences shaped the belief that access to nature, family time, and outdoor living should be attainable, not exclusive.
That belief continues to guide everything Prairie’s Edge builds today.

At Prairie’s Edge we believe successful communities are built with the future in mind. From infrastructure and lot layout to amenities and land use, every decision is made to support long-term ownership, ease of use, and lasting value. We focus on creating complete lake communities- not just selling lots.
Respectful Development & Environmental Stewardship
Respect for the land is central to how we develop. Sunset Beach was carefully planned to work with the natural landscape rathan than against it, preserving open space while enhancing usability.
As part of this commitment, more than 45,000 trees have been planted throughout the community, helping to improve privacy, reduce wind exposure, support wildlife habitat, and ensure the area continues to mature naturally for future generations.
Our Development History
Prairies Edge has a proven track record of successful lake developments in Saskatchewan.
Our first development was a 15-lot subdivision at St. Brieux, completed in 2008. This early development established our focus on thoughtful planning and community oriented design.
Building on that success, Prairie’s Edge developed a 135-lot lake subdivision at Lucien Lake, which sold out completely in 2022. The Lucien Lake development includes a playground, walking trails, trout pond, constructed beach, and a 50 slip inland marina, reinforcing our commitment to investing in meaningful amenities that enhance everyday enjoyment.
These experiences laid the groundwork for our largest and most comprehensive project to date- Sunset Beach at Lake Diefenbaker.

The Story Behind Sunset Beach
In 2016, the Forster family learned of their successful bid to acquire 170 acres on the east shore of Lake Diefenbaker.
That spring, they visited the famous Sunset Beach on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii and were struck by the beauty and colors of the sand and sunset.
They were amazed at similarities to the sand and sunsets on their newly acquired land in Saskatchewan and the warm feelings spending time there as a family.
They collectively decided that the name Sunset Beach was ideal for this new place- a site so incredibly beautiful that held the values of family and togetherness. As a reminder of beautiful memories, Sunset Beach at Lake Diefenbaker was born.

Resort Residential Zoning
All lots at Sunset Beach are zoned Resort Residential, allowing the use of an RV, park model, RTM or cabin on any lot within the community, including lakefront properties. This zoning provides exceptional versatility and long-term value for Lake Diefenbaker property owners.
