Sunset Beach Summer Crew 2024-2025

When I applied at Sunset Beach, I was initially excited about living out at Lake Diefenbaker. Great beach, fishing, hiking trails, what’s not to love? But what I didn’t expect was to love working at Sunset Beach as much as I did. The job itself is fun, and I gained new experiences and skills during my time. I live in the city, and the skills that I learned at Sunset are some that I would find hard to learn in a place like Saskatoon. Nothing felt like actual “work” and tasks made the day go by quickly. From tree planting to mowing, it was all enjoyable. Even the weeding! Listening to your favourite podcast or music while you pick weeds and get a tan is a pretty sick deal to me.

Another added plus is the 4-day work week. It goes by quickly and before you know it, the weekend is here. Having Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off was an added bonus because I could make plans with my friends, go back home to Saskatoon, or go back to my hometown. I was able to have the fun summer experience and pay my bills at the same time.

Something else that I didn’t expect is the absolutely wonderful work-place environment. We received lots of positive reinforcement, and our hard work was recognized. I can truly say that one of the reasons why I enjoyed working at Sunset so much was because of the genuine passion, positivity, and trust from everybody that works there, I cannot express that enough. The energy is contagious.

The time I spent at Sunset Beach, I know I will remember it for years to come. I truly have not had a job experience that was as positive, fun, and meaningful as Sunset Beach. This place holds a special place in my heart and if you’re on the fence about applying, go for it, you will not regret it.

Sunset Beach Summer Staff Taylor Mielke

Taylor Mielke (Saskatoon, SK)
Sunset Beach Summer Crew 2024-2025

Sunset Beach is an awesome workplace for so many reasons. I really enjoy working outside in the summer right along the lake because we get so many nice days throughout the summer.

Another reason I enjoy Sunset Beach is the flexible work hours. We get to work 4 days a week, which gives us weekends off and we can choose when we start and end work. That being 7-5, 6-4 and so on.

Sunset Beach is a place to grow as workers as well! Our bosses give us room to be independent when we work, which makes it more enjoyable and helps with learning how to do new tasks. At Sunset Beach we have a great team who are very supportive and helpful.

The best thing about Sunset Beach is the positive environment that we have with our co-workers, bosses, and residents.

I strongly recommend coming to work at Sunset Beach because it is a great workplace.

I found Sunset Beach to be a great place to spend my summers working. I learned so much, like how to operate different machines and how to work cohesively within a team setting. Management was always kind and made it easy for me to prioritize certain tasks well in advance. Additionally, Sunset Beach proved to be a great location for beautiful sunrises and sunsets, small wildlife sights, and a late day paddle board excursion, all adding to my experience working there.

Working at Sunset Beach was a top tier summer job! It was a job that made me grateful for the bosses and coworkers I had, which I never took for granted. I learned teamwork skills and how to do jobs independently when needed! If you get lucky like I was, you can have some of your closest friends as coworkers and you’re able to make the bestest of memories at work and outside of it!
